Food Drive for Our Troops in Iraq

The Snellville Commerce Club will be collecting food items for our soldiers in Iraq on its June 17th meeting.

Below is a list of suggested items to be included in the packages.

Please bring whatever you are willing to contribute to the meeting on June 17th.  We’ll have some boxes ready and anyone that can stay a few minutes after the meeting can help fill them up.  Some cash donations would be helpful as well to pay the postage.  We will use the post offices flat rate boxes.  It costs $8.95 to send a box a little larger than a shirt box (up to 70lbs).

We'll also have some note cards for people to write during the meeting.  The guys like to know about the people sending the packages.

Suggestions:
instant oatmeal
granola bars
mashed potatoes pouches
cookies
tuna pouches
rice bowls
ramin noodles
instant grits
breakfast bars
pop tarts
any kind of snack foods
Any of those drink packets you mix with a bottle of water.  I think Gatorade has one and other brands as well.

Non-food items such as UNSCENTED baby wipes.

It is very hot so please no chocolate or things that will melt.

Many thanks to member Barbara Bender of Hamilton Financial for organizing this drive.
